Beaudet's Six Goals Power Women's Lacrosse Past Old Dominion

CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina Chanticleers erupted for seven fourth-quarter goals to pull away for a 13–10 win over Old Dominion Monarchs on Wednesday afternoon.

Gabrielle Beaudet led Coastal Carolina with a game-high six goals, including four in the decisive fourth quarter, as the Chanticleers improved to 8-4 overall.

The Monarchs (5-8) held a 3–2 lead after the opening period and stayed within striking distance throughout, tying the game at 6–6 early in the third quarter before Coastal began to create separation.

Evelyn Kitchin added three goals for the Chanticleers, including a go-ahead free-position score midway through the third that sparked a 2–0 run to give Coastal an 8–6 edge. Alyson Mascolo chipped in two goals, while Alexandra Horn (one goal, one assist) accounted for the game-winner.

Old Dominion answered early in the fourth, trimming the deficit to 8–7 and later tying the game at 8–8, but Coastal responded with a dominant stretch. Beaudet scored twice in a span of just over two minutes as part of a 5–0 run that broke the game open and pushed the lead to 12–8.

The Monarchs got goals from Jules Mills (three), Ashley Greene (two goals, two assists) and Kayleigh Flanegan (two), but could not keep pace with Coastal's late surge.

Coastal Carolina outshot Old Dominion 31–20 and held a 14–6 advantage in ground balls, while also winning 14 draw controls.

Charlotte Sadler made five saves in goal to earn the win for the Chanticleers, while Old Dominion's Brynn Bowen recorded eight saves.

The Chanticleers are back home Saturday against Atlantic Sun newcomer Austin Peay. The first draw is set for 11 a.m.
