WEST POINT, Miss. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team will close out its regular season at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, hosted by Mississippi State, April 13-14 in West Point, Miss.
The Chanticleers will compete against 18 teams in the 54-hole event at Mossy Oak Golf Club.
The field features a pair of top-20 teams in No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 17 Alabama, along with four Sun Belt Conference foes in Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Troy. Cincinnati, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, UTEP and Vanderbilt round out the field.
Coastal returns to competition for the first time in nearly three weeks after finishing eighth at the Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay with a 9-under 855. Sophomore
Drew Sykes led the Chants, placing sixth overall at 7-under for the tournament.
Max Bengtsson heads up the Chants' five-man lineup along with Sykes,
Jack Lee,
Harrison James and
Owen Kim. Bengtsson leads the team with a 70.71 scoring average, followed closely by Sykes at 70.75.
The Chanticleers will be paired with Kansas State, South Alabama and UTEP for Monday's opening round, which begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
