CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team hits the road to face the Georgia State Panthers on April 2-4 in Atlanta, Ga.
 
Scouting the Opponent

• The Panthers own a 20–18 record on the season and are looking to earn their first Sun Belt series victory after falling to Marshall, Troy, and Appalachian State.
• Despite a shaky start to conference play, the Panthers have six players batting over .300, with McKenzie Walker leading the way with a .421 batting average.
• Makayla Stephens paces the pitching staff with a 2.26 ERA and a 13–8 record. The junior has tallied 152 strikeouts, which ranks fourth in the nation, and has recorded four shutouts, which ranks ninth in the NCAA.
• Georgia State is currently on a three-game losing streak after dropping the final two games of its series to App State and falling 8–7 in extra innings in a midweek matchup against Chattanooga.

History Against

• Coastal owns a 17–11 all-time record against Georgia State. The Chants will look to build on their seven-game win streak over the Panthers.
• Coastal holds a 3–5 record on the road against Georgia State.
• In the last meeting, Coastal shut out the Panthers 8–0 in five innings to secure a series sweep. Clara Hudgens, Delaney Keith, and Libby Pippin each recorded RBIs in the win.
• The Chants have won five of the last six series against the Panthers.
• CCU averages 4.36 runs per game against Georgia State and has outscored the Panthers 56–18 over the last 10 meetings.

Fun in the Sun Belt 

• The Chants lead the Sun Belt with 325 assists and rank second with 234 RBIs.
• Brie Normandin ranks fifth in the conference with a .434 batting average and is tied for fifth with 42 hits.
• Georgia Hood ranks fourth with a .784 slugging percentage, second with 38 RBIs, and third with 14 home runs.
• Delaney Keith ranks fourth with 31 runs scored and 10th with nine stolen bases.
