ATHENS, Ga. – Senior
Max Bengtsson and sophomore
Drew Sykes are set to compete as individuals in the NCAA Athens Regional, hosted by the University of Georgia at the UGA Golf Course.
The three-day tournament begins Monday, May 18, and runs through Wednesday, May 20. Tee times have been announced, with the duo set to tee off at 9:23 a.m. ET.
There are 13 teams and 10 individuals competing for spots in the NCAA Championship. The top five teams from each of the six regionals will advance to the 30-team NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., from May 29-June 3. The lowest-scoring individual not on an advancing team will also earn a spot in the NCAA Championship field.
Bengtsson and Sykes finished first and second, respectively, at the Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship, with Bengtsson earning medalist honors at 11-under par, followed by Sykes at eight-under par.
