CONWAY, S.C. – Six Coastal Carolina football players were named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-Sun Belt Team, the publication announced.
Linebacker Se'Veon McDowell headlined the Chanticleers' selections, earning second-team honors.
Coastal Carolina placed three players on the third team with running back Dominic Knicely, cornerback Ja'Marion Wayne, and punter Emile Sebafundi each receiving recognition. Wide receiver Robby Washington and linebacker Tray Brown rounded out the Chanticleers' honorees with fourth-team selections.

The Athlon Sports selections add to a growing list of preseason accolades for the Chanticleers entering the 2026 campaign.
Earlier this summer, defensive lineman Desmond Barnes and Sebafundi were named Second Team All-Sun Belt by Lindy's Sports.
Coastal also had nine players recognized on the Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt Team, led by McDowell's second-team selection. Wayne and Sebafundi earned third-team honors, while Washington, Cristian Loaiza, Daughtry Richardson, Ibrahim Diawara, Jalen Lee, and Mitch Weisenborn were selected to the fourth team.
The Chanticleers will open the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, at West Virginia before hosting Fordham in their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Brooks Stadium.
