Will Devine Named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS — Coastal Carolina men's soccer student-athlete Will Devine was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The last time a Chanticleer garnered this honor was in October 2024, when Harrison Gough was selected.
Devine had a standout debut for the Chanticleers, recording a shutout against No. 2-ranked NC State. The goalkeeper faced 19 shots in his 90 minutes of action and made four crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The shutout helped Coastal earn a 0-0 draw against the second-ranked Wolfpack in the season opener. Devine finished the match with a perfect 1.000 save percentage and recorded his first clean sheet of the season.
Coastal will return to action on Aug. 29 when the Chants host Stetson at the CCU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET.
