High School:Was an All-Conference selection his senior year at Scotland High School in Laurinburg, N.C... Hit .545 and helped the Scots to a 4A State Championship his junior season... Was Scotland[apos]s 2007 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year... Had a .590 batting average and 11 home runs his sophomore season... Helped the Scots to be ranked 26th in the nation his junior season... Played club baseball for the Uwharrie Anglers, the Sandhill Diamonds and the Carolina Hurricanes... Also played football for Scotland and was an All-Conference left tackle his junior year and an All-Conference and All-Region selection his senior season... Was on the National Honor Society and made the Honor Roll all four years at Scotland... Brother, Josh, played baseball at UNC Wilmington...
