Coastal Carolina University Athletics

Fred Proesel joined Coastal Carolina Football in March 2026.

He arrives in Conway after spending the previous two seasons at Gardner-Webb, where he served as the program’s Chief of Staff and Director of Football Operations. Proesel was promoted into that role after beginning his tenure with the Runnin’ Bulldogs as an Offensive Line graduate assistant.

Prior to his time at Gardner-Webb, Proesel coached tight ends at Tiffin University during the 2023 season. He also gained Power Five experience as a wide receivers intern at the University of Minnesota in 2022.

A graduate of the University of Dayton, Proesel earned his degree in finance while serving as a student assistant with the Flyers football program for all four years of his collegiate career.
