Prior to Coastal Carolina
- A three-time 7A All-State selection at Fayetteville High School, earning the accolade in freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons
- Attended Montverde Academy (Fla.) during his senior golf season
- Played in five events on the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) while at Montverde Academy, making the cut all five times and placing no lower than 16th
- Named an FCWT thrid-team All-American
- Won the Eagle Creek Challenge (Orlando, Fla.) with a two-day score of 136, 10-under par (69-67)
- Finished in a tie for seventh at the TPC Tampa Bay Challenge (76-71=147)
- Posted a tournament scoring average of 75.2 over 40 rounds in 2009
- Was the first alternate from Arkansas for the U.S. Junior Amateur, finishing third out of 34, and qualified to play in the Optimist International Jr. Championship
- Also qualified to play The Trusted Choice Big I National thanks to a wire to wire win with a score of 140, 4-under par, at Ridge Pointe CC in Jonesboro, Ark.
- Earned fully exempt status on the AJGA after tying for fifth at the Elbit Systems of America Junior Golf Classic
- Competed on the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) and represented the USA as a member of IJGT Euro Cup (2008 at St. Andrews in Scotland) and North America Cup (2009 at Toronto) teams
