Prior to Coastal Carolina
- Spent his first two collegiate years at Cleveland State Community College
- Recorded a season stroke average of 73.13 as a sophomore, including shooting a personal-best 65 in the season opener at Springbrook
- Helped lead Cleveland State to the 2005 NJCAA Region VII Championship and their second-straight berth in the NJCAA National Championship
- Finished 15th individually at the 2005 National Championship, earning third-team All-America accolades his sophomore season
- Had 44 percent of his rounds at par or better
- Posted a 75.75 season stroke average as a freshman
- Earned NJCAA second-team Division II All-America honors after tying for 10th at the NJCAA National Championship
- A four-year letterwinner in golf at Carolina Day School in Asheville, N.C.
- Also played basketball, earning letters all four years and N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association All-State honors his last three seasons
- Helped the Wildcats to the state title his final two seasons, averaging 17 points and five rebounds as a senior and 15 points and five rebounds his junior season
- Named to the honor roll all four years and was a part of the Highlander Society (community service)
