Biography
In just her first collegiate season, freshman outside hitter Jeanne Lambert played a major role in Coastal Carolina's Big South Championship and NCAA Tournament season. Lambert, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, led the Lady Chanticleers and the Big South Conference with 438 digs (3.48 digs per game), a category which she also ranked in the top 20 in the nation in before an injury slowed her midway through the season. In addition to her defensive numbers, Lambert also proved her all-around talents by adding 294 kills, 34 blocks and 38 service aces. Her 1998 statistics are among the top seasons in Coastal Carolina history as she ranks tenth in games played with 123, tenth in kills, eighth in total attacks with 940 and second in digs.
