CONWAY, SC — Coastal Carolina University Director of Athletics Warren Koegel
announced today that several Chanticleers' athletic events have been postponed due to the recent tragedy in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

"We are deeply concerned and disturbed by this national tragedy," said Koegel. "In respect for all Americans and out of concern for the safety of our student-athletes, we have cancelled several sporting events this week."

The list of sporting events which have been cancelled follows. Further information concerning the rescheduling of these events will be released when available.

In addition to the events cancelled below, Coastal Carolina is also scheduled to host USC Spartanburg in women's soccer this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and the women's golf team is scheduled to participate in the Elon Invitational in Sunset Beach, North Carolina on Saturday and Sunday. A determination on these events will be made in the coming days.

Wednesday, September 12 - Women's Soccer at Campbell

Friday & Saturday, September 14-15 - Volleyball hosting the CCU Classic
(scheduled teams were CCU, Kent State, Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, and
Tennessee Tech)

Friday & Sunday, September 14 & 16 - Men's Soccer in Providence, Rhode
Island for the Brown/Adidas Invitational
