KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coastal Carolina senior midfielder Loed Klaasen continues to add to an impressive 2025 campaign, earning United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region first team honors, it was announced on Tuesday.
Klaasen's regional recognition marks a significant milestone for the program, as he becomes the first Chanticleer selected to the USC All-Southeast Region team since Peter Dearle and Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual earned honors in 2022. He is also the first Coastal player to receive first team distinction since Frantzdy Pierrot accomplished the feat in 2017. Pierrot has since gone on to play professionally for AEK Athens in Greece's top division.
A pivotal playmaker in the Chanticleers' midfield, Klaasen appeared in all 14 matches this season, recording four goals and seven assists. His 0.50 assists-per -match average is tied for 16th nationally, while his 1.07 points-per-match average sits ninth in the Sun Belt Conference. Klaasen consistently set the tempo for Coastal's attack, leading the Chants and ranking sixth in the league with 2.14 shots per match, while maintaining a .367 shots-on-goal percentage across 1,193 minutes of action.
Earlier this season, Klaasen was also named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team, further cementing his status as one of the premier midfielders in the nation.
