Box Score Volleyball Defeats ROCK HILL , S.C.-- Four player with double-digit kills propelled Coastal Carolina to a 3-2 victory over Winthrop Friday night in Big South Conference volleyball action in Rock Hill, SC.
Katie Knutson had 19 kills and 32 digs to lead the Chanticleers (18-9, 9-2 BSC) to a 31-33, 30-21, 23-30, 30-26, 15-10 win over the Eagles.
Jeanne Lambert had 18 kills, Sarah Bennett had 14 kills and Lauren Wozniak had 12 kills for CCU in the win. Jennifer Hampton also netted a double-double on the night, with 58 assists and 20 digs.
The Eagles (23-8, 9-2 BSC) also had four players with double-digit kills, and two players had double-doubles in the match.
Logan Pierce had 24 kills and 18 digs while Odette Parris had a career-high 66 assists and 17 digs as they each posted a double-double for the Eagles.
Mary Hock had 20 kills, Jennifer Pritchard had 19 kills and Lindsey Remmers added 12 kills in the loss. Amy Coccia also had a season-high 25 digs in the match.
The loss ends an eight-game winning streak for the Eagles.
Winthrop takes on Charleston Southern Saturday at 2 p.m. for the final regular season home match of the year.
