Men's Soccer on the Rise in National Polls CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men’s soccer team is now ranked as high as 11th in the nation in four Division I polls for the week ending September 28. The team is 7-1-0 on the season after winning the Nike/Clemson Invitational this past weekend by beating Furman and the host Tigers.
Soccer Times, which tabbed Coastal as 15th last week, now has the squad at 11th in the country, and the adidas/NSCAA National Rankings bumped Coastal from 21st to 12th from last week to this. College Soccer News, which named senior Joseph Ngwenya (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe-Provincial) the National Player of the Week on Monday, also has the Chants at 12th, where last week they were 17th, and Coastal debuted at 19th in the Soccer America rankings this week.
Coastal opens its Big South slate in its only game of the week this Wednesday, October 1, as they travel to take on UNC Asheville at 4 p.m.
