The first game was back and fourth with 11 tied scores and three lead changes. With the game tied at 15 all, Liberty would rally to score nine of the games next eleven points to take a 24-17 lead on a kill by sophomore middle blocker Autum Poorman. The Flames kept control and finish off the first game, 30-21.

The second game was another competitive game with eight tie scores and two lead changes. The game was not looking good in the beginning as CCU fell behind 10-4 before rallying to knot the game up at 12 on the kill by freshman Nakia Thompson (Lexington, S.C./Lexington). Coastal would built on that momentum and take a 17-14 lead on a kill by junior Krista Kimble (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro). But again the Flames would rally to tie the game up at 23 all. Coastal would rally again and a kill by Jensen would give the Chanticleers the game two victory 30-26.

In game three Coastal got off to a good start, as they took a 14-7 lead, due in part to a pair of attack errors by Liberty on consecutive plays. The Flames would not go down without a fight though, as they rallied to tie the game at 23 all. But CCU would withstand the rally and gain momentum on a kill by Alicia Meyers (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley) and another pair of attack errors by the Flames on consecutive plays, would give Coastal the win, 30-26, and the 2-1 lead in the games on the evening.

With its back firmly against the wall in the fourth game, Liberty would come out with a sense of purpose and take a 10-7 lead on a kill by Poorman. Again Coastal would rally and tie the game at 13 all on the kill by Meyers. The game would feature 17 tied scores and 12 lead changes. The two teams then vollyed, with neither team able to open up more than a two-point lead, until kills by juniors Jensen and Kimble on back to back plays, would carry CCU to the win in game-four and the give them the match victory.

Besides Jensen, sophomore Meyers also tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs. Fellow sophomores Laura Obert (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother Mercy) and Kristin Rinne (Fountain Hills. Ariz/Fountain Hills) played well with 11 kills and 17 digs, respectively. Junior setter Jennifer Hampton (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro) had a double-double with 51 assists and 13 digs.
