CONWAY, S.C. – James Madison completed a weekend sweep of Coastal Carolina with a straight-set win, 3–0 (22-25, 16-25, 19-25), on Saturday afternoon at the HTC Center.

The Chanticleers fell to 14–6 overall and 6–2 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Dukes improved to 14–6 and 7–1 in the league. JMU is tied with Georgia Southern for first place in SBC East.

JMU hit .316 for the match and limited Coastal to a .168 attack percentage. The Dukes were led by Kennedy Louisell's 10 kills, while Melisa Ilter added seven kills and four blocks.  Addie Norman chipped in nine kills and Ana Toumazatos added eight. Setter Grace Wenrich paced the offense with 19 assists, and libero Julia McNeley led all players with 15 digs.

Emily Fowler led Coastal Carolina with nine kills on a .571 hitting percentage and added two service aces. Anzley Rinard tallied eight kills and six digs, while Jalyn Stout posted five kills, nine assists and five digs. Ava Wallis dished out 13 assists, and Bailee Earnhardt finished with seven digs.

QUICK SET RECAP
Set 1: JMU jumped out to an early six-point lead, 10-4, but the Chanticleers methodically crawled backed with on-point, 22-21, only to fall four points short as the Dukes closed the frame on a Melisa Ilter ace to win 25–22.
Set 2: JMU carried its momentum into the second set, hitting .345 while holding Coastal to .030. The Dukes opened with a 8–3 lead and never trailed in a 25–16 win.
Set 3: The teams traded points early before JMU used a 5-0 run to break an 11-all tie to take control. Louisell's late kill sealed the 25–19 victory and the match sweep.

NOTES
• The Chanticleers lost in straight sets for the first time this season and fell to 4-8 all-time against JMU.
• Earnhardt surpassed her season total for digs from a year ago. She has 242 digs in 72 sets this year after registering 237 in 98 sets last season.

Coastal Carolina will continue Sun Belt Conference play next weekend when it welcomes Appalachian State to the HTC Center for a two-match series beginning Friday, Oct. 24.
