CONWAY, SC - Coastal Carolina volleyball fell to the University of Iowan during their  first match of the Microtel Inn & Suites CCU Classic Friday evening. The Lady Chanticleers lost in three games with scores of: 30-23,30-21-30-20

Katherine Jensen-Spencer (Vancouver, B.C./Sentinel Secondary/Ole Miss) tallied eight kills and eight digs for the Lady Chanticleers. Alicia Meyers (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley )added seven kills and 11 digs to CCU's effort. The Chanticleers had a hitting percentage of .25 where the Hawkeyes of Iowa hit at .597.

Leading the Hawkeyes was Catherine Smale with 13 kills and eight digs. Stacy Vitali added 11 kills for the University of Iowa.

Coastal Carolina will continue play Saturday at 10 am as the Lady Chanticleers face the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State. The Iowa Hawkeyes will face the Aggies of North Carolina A & T at noon Saturday.
