CONWAY, S.C. - The men's tennis team fell to 7-2 on the season after falling to the UNC Wilmington Seahawks 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
Freshman Plamen Tzvetkov (Herts, United Kingdom/Stanbourough) picked up the only win for the Chanticleers after defeating Dennis Myers in the fourth spot in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.
The remaining five Chanticleers all lost in the match.
In doubles action, the Chants put up a strong fight but couldn't overtake any of the three spots against the Seahawks.
"This match was a lot closer than the final score. We lost three third-set matches which could have gone either way," head coach Chris Powers commented. "It is a long season with some ups and some downs and today just wasn't our day. We can very quickly bounce back with big effort against Citadel on Sunday."
