RADFORD, Va. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team fell to 14-8, 3-3 on the season after being swept by the Highlanders of Radford 6-0. Radford improves to 13-5, 5-1 on the season.

The Highlanders won all six singles matches and the doubles matches were not completed due to rain.

In singles action, David Mellis (London ,England/Goffs) fell to No. 66 Martin Sayer 6-2, 6-1 at the number one position with James Lloyd picking up a win at number two against Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England/Queen Mary's College) 6-3, 6-3.

Radford's Patrick Metham defeated Richard Redding (Winscombe, England/Queen Elizabeth's Hospital) at number three singles 7-6 (3), 6-2 while Coastal's Plamen Tzvetkov (Herts, United Kingdom/Stanborough) lost to Mehdi Benhammou 7-5, 6-1.

Also picking up wins for Radford were Luka Rister, who defeated Joseph Withers (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap (Liberty)) 6-3, 6-0 and Zach Watson against Andy Caress (6-0, 6-3) in the sixth spot.

Before the weather forced the doubles matches to stop, Taylor and Caress were ahead of Watson and Sayer 1-0. However, Behammou and Methan were ahead of Redding and Tzvetkov 1-0 while Lloyd and Rister also had the edge on Withers and Mellis at 1-0.

The Chanticleers next host Wofford on Thursday, April 5 at 3 p.m. at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
