CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coastal Carolina men's soccer sophomore forward Rodrigo Vianna has been selected as the Big South Men's Soccer Player of the Week the conference office announced Wednesday.
Vianna scored a pair of game-winning goals last week to lead the Chanticleers to a perfect 2-0 record in two conference games.
He netted his first career goal for Coastal Oct. 4 at VMI in a 1-0 win over the Keydets to help improve the Chanticleers to 12-0 all-time against VMI.
Vianna followed that performance by scoring the game-winning goal Saturday in a 2-1 win over Presbyterian.
"I am very pleased for Rodrigo as he continues to work hard this year to get adjusted to Division I college soccer," Coastal Carolina head coach Shaun Docking said. "He is really beginning to lead the attack in a very positive way."
Vianna and the Chanticleers seek their third straight win Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. against UNC Asheville from the Coastal Carolina Soccer Field.
