With the game tied at 1-1, the Chanticleers took the lead once again in the fifth. Ashley Pisone drew a walk with one out and stole second to give Coastal a runner in scoring position. Maples popped up for the second out, but Daigle was patient at the plate, drawing a walk. Pierre drove in Pisone to regain the lead at 2-1.

With two outs, Olivia Piccirillo singled to left center and Mecaela Ballard reached first on an error at second base to keep the inning alive. Pisone loaded the bases on a single to the shortstop and Maples doubled to left center to bring in three runs, giving Coastal a 6-1 lead.

Edwards started in the circle, but was relieved after walking in the run in the first. Frederick came in to finish the game, allowing no runs on five hits with nine strikeouts to get the win over the Eagles. Frederick improves to 14-15 while Cari Wooldridge takes the loss and falls to 14-13.
Both Daigle and Pierre went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Chants. Wright and Ashlee Revell led Winthrop, each recording two hits.
