Coastal opened the game with a 30-yard shot from Pedro Ribeiro that snuck underneath the crossbar for a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute. Ribeiro received a pass from Shawn McLaws, which he one touched before ripping the blast for his third goal of the year.
Reigning Big South Attacking Player of the Week, TeeJay East added his fourth goal in three games to put the Chants up 2-0 in the 49th minute. A Robby Joe Daniels throw-in initiated the scoring play as his toss found the box where an open East one touched the point blank goal.
