BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season following a 5-2 setback to Campbell Tuesday afternoon from the Nisbet Tennis Center.

Coastal Carolina (6-1) swept all three doubles matches and quickly opened up an early 1-0 lead. Seniors Matt Gordon and Peter Billingham turned in an 8-7 win over Davy Sum and Dominik Kaniewski at No. 1.

Senior Alex Funkhouser and junior Danny Heidecker secured an 8-3 victory at No. 2 over Larbi Lamzouri, while senior Dorian Sovic and sophomore Yusuke Kusuda capped the sweep with an 8-6 win over Josep Baro and Ondrej Kralik at the No. 3 position.

The Chanticleers, however, won just one of six singles matches. Gordon posted the lone Coastal win when he bested Lamzouri at No. 2 7-5, 6-4.

Coastal Carolina returns to action Saturday at 12 p.m. when the Chants host Radford from the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
