AUGUSTA, Ga. - Coastal Carolina turned in a first-round score of seven-over par 295 and second round score of 292 to stand in ninth place (587) in a field of 17 at the prestigious Insperity Invitational, hosted by defending national champion Augusta State at Forest Hills Golf Club.

Top-ranked Oklahoma State is one of four top 10 teams in the country ranked among the Golfstat top 10 in the field and a total of nine schools are ranked among the Golfstat top 42.

The Cowboys turned in an 20-under par 556 to lead #36 Tennessee by 10 strokes (279) and #31 Clemson by 19 (575). Third-ranked Alabama is fourth (580), followed by #6 Augusta State (582) and #2 Alabama (582).

Tripp McAllister recorded a one-under par 71 in the first round, while Sebastian Soderberg and Roberto Ballesteros both turned in even-par rounds of 72 in round two for the Chants. Overall, Soderberg is tied for 20th (73-72) at one-over par 145, McAllister is tied for 25th (71-75=146) and Ballesteros is tied for 32nd (75-72=147). Steve Delmar rallied from a 76 in round one to card a 73 in round two to tie for 45th (149). Drew Ernst rounded out the fivesome with rounds of 76-77 (153) to tie for 66th.

Soderberg had three birdies in round one and five in round two, but had a double-bogey sixnd in each round to keep him from a pair of under par rounds. McAllister was two-under after his first nine, but bogied his 14th, 16th and 17th holes in round one, before a birdie on 18 to finish one over. In the second round, he was six over par through 16 holes then reeled off three birdies to close out his round to finish three-over 75.

Ballesteros had an up and down first round with five birdies and six bogeys, adding a double bogey. The freshman was more steady in the second round, getting four birdies with just one bogey. However, sitting at two-under through 16 holes, he had a double bogey on his 17th hole and a par on 18 to finish even for round two.

Delmar off-set six bogies with two birdies in the first round to shoot four-over 76. In the second round, the senior had six birdies, including three straight on holes 16, 17 and 18. However, he had seven bogies and just five pars to shhot one-over 73 in round two.

The event will conclude with 18 final holes on Sunday.
