CONWAY - The second-seeded Coastal Carolina men's soccer team continues its march to the 2014 Big South Tournament championship facing third-seeded High Point in a semifinal round match Friday at 7 p.m. at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.

STARTING XI
• Coastal Carolina finished second to Radford during the 2014 Big South regular season with a 7-1-1 record.
• The Chanticleers co-lead the Big South with 39 total goals during the regular season, which also tied for sixth-best in the nation with Winthrop, Charlotte and North Carolina.
• For the second straight regular season, Coastal only surrendered 16 goals in 18 matches.
• The Chants have conceded only four goals in 10 matches against Big South competition.
• Ricky Garbanzo is Coastal's top goal scorer for the second straight year. He has eight scores on the season, including a hat trick against Longwood on Nov. 8.
• In all, 13 different players have accounted for the Chants' 41 goals.
• Coastal is 17-2-1 all-time as the second seed in the Big South Tournament. The Chanticleers went on to win the championship from the two seed in 1990, 1995, 2004 and 2010.

• With his start in the Big South quarterfinal, Garbanzo passed former Chanticleer Justin Portillo for the CCU and Big South record with 90 career matches played.
• 11 of Coastal's 18 regular season opponents, including eight of nine non-conference opponents, have spent at least one week ranked in a top-25 national poll.
THE CHANTS AND THE PANTHERS
• Coastal Carolina and High point have met 24 previous times with Coastal dominating the series with a 17-3-4 record.
• The teams played to a 1-1 draw during the regular season on Nov. 5 in Conway. Avery Ryan scored for the Panthers in the 21st minute and Shawn McLaws leveled the score with a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. Coastal outshot High point 23-10 and held a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.
• Coastal is 4-0-1 against High Point in Big South Tournament play. The sides' last postseason meeting was in the semifinal round of the 2012 tournament with Coastal taking a 2-1 victory.
• No current Chanticleer has lost to High Point in their career.
11-TIME CHAMPIONS
• Coastal Carolina holds the Big South record with 11 tournament championships.
• The Chanticleers claimed the tournament championship in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1995, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 210 and 2013.
• Coastal is 42-12-4 all-time in the Big South postseason.
• The Chants are 17-2-1 all-time when playing as the two seed, including 1-0-0 in this year's tournament. Coastal won the tournament title from the two seed in 1990, 1995, 2004 and 2010.
• Friday marks CCU's 14th consecutive Big South Tournament semifinal appearance.
ATTACK …
• Coastal has found the back of the net 41 times this season courtesy of 13 different players. The 41 tallies rank third in the nation behind Winthrop's 43 and California's 42. Ricky Garbanzo leads the Coastal attack with eight goals, while Sergio Camargo, Bryce Follensbee and Tommy Gudmundsson are tied for second on the team with five scores. Overall, nine Chants count multiple goals.
… AND DEFEND …
• Coastal's defensive work has been nearly as impressive as its attack. To date, the Chanticleers have limited their opposition to 17 total goals, good for a 0.89 goals against average. In addition, CCU's opposition has been held to 8.26 shots, including just 3.47 shots on goal per game. Coastal goalkeepers Devin Cook-Perales and Mark Petrus have combined for 49 total saves and seven shutouts.

• A high-octane attack coupled with stingy defensive play is nothing new for the Chanticleers. In 2011 Coastal led the nation with 66 goals and surrendered only 22 goals in 22 matches. In 2012 the Chants ranked second in the NCAA with 63 goals and 27th with a 0.85 goals against average. Last season CCU's attack generated 47 scores to rank second nationally, while the defensive effort produced a 0.83 goals against average (34th in NCAA) and a 0.50 shutout percentage (11th in NCAA).
FOUR STRAIGHT
• Ricky Garbanzo earning the Attacking and Shawn McLaws earning the Defensive Player of the Year honors marked the fourth consecutive year that Chanticleers have swept the conference's attacking and defensive player of the year awards. Pedro Ribeiro was the Attacking Player of the Year last season, while Ashton Bennett earned the award in both 2011 and 2012. McLaws is a repeat selection as the Defensive Player of the Year. Cyprian Hedrick was tabbed the league's top defensive player in 2011 followed by Kjartan Sigurdsson in 2012.
THE WINNING GENERAL
• Head coach Shaun Docking entered the 2014 season as the winningest coach in Coastal soccer history. To date Docking has compiled a 226-101-27 (.674) mark over 17 seasons as the Chanticleers' head man. His overall career record of 246-120-29 (20-19-2 as head coach at Charleston Southern from 1996-97) ranks him as the 22nd winningest active coach in the NCAA by percentage (.657) and 36th by total victories.
