CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Presbyterian College on Saturday afternoon at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center. After jumping out to a 3-1 lead, the Chanticleers (10-7, 2-2) surrendered the final three singles points to the Blue Hose (23-5, 6-1).

Coastal's doubles pairs gave the Chants an early lead after winning matches on the first and second courts to clinch the doubles point.

Presbyterian's No. 3 pair of Diego Manzanas and Grayson Mills struck first, edging Coastal's Ted Nilsson and Hunter Whalen 8-6.

The Chants then evened up the doubles round on the first court where Coastal's No. 1 pair of Philippe Tsangaridis and Leo Christofides took the match 8-4 over Rafael Berghaus and Joel Roberts of Presbyterian.

Garik Yedigarian and Renan Samed clinched the point for Coastal at No. 2, winning their fourth doubles match of the season together by an 8-6 margin over Ryan Miller and Ben Kelley.

Yedigarian put the Chants up 2-0 as play moved to singles, downing Roberts 6-3, 6-4 to claim his third consecutive singles match.

PC's Danny Bruce countered at No. 4, giving the Blue Hose their first point of the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Christofides.

Nilsson put the Chants on the brink of victory, giving Coastal a 3-1 lead after besting Kelley 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3. Presbyterian, however, rallied to take the final singles matches.

Gonzalo Asis won a three-set match over Jabor Al-Mutawa at No. 6, and Mills rallied at No. 1 to defeat #87 Tsangaridis 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

With the match tied 3-3, Manzanas pulled through for Presbyterian, winning the No. 5 singles match in the third set to clinch the final point for the Blue Hose.

The Chanticleers will look to bounce back from Saturday's loss when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C., on Tuesday to take on the Winthrop Eagles in a 2 p.m. match.
