Final Stats

Clinton, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team (9-5, 4-1) won its third straight match on Saturday as the Chanticleers defeated the host Presbyterian Blue Hose 5-2 at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

Coastal opened the match taking two of three decisions on the doubles court to jump out to a 1-0 lead.

Philippe Tsangarides and Kaue Pereira teamed up to deliver an 8-6 loss to Presbyterian's top pairing of Alexander Lykou and Brandon Mills on the first court. Vuk Velickovic and Garik Yedigarian also contributed in doubles, downing Ryan Miller and Danny Bruce 8-3 on the third court.

Joel Roberts and Ben Kelley edged Renan Samed and Pedro Leme 8-7 at No. 2 doubles.

The Chanticleers then took four of the six singles points to close out the match.

Tsangarides (No. 1) and Leme (No. 6) each won in straight sets, defeating Roberts and Kelley, respectively.

Pereira rebounded from a 1-6 first set on the second court to defeat Lykou 6-0, 6-3 in the second and third sets. Velickovic also won in three sets, downing Manzanas 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3.

Alejandro Bejar (No. 4) and Bruce (No. 5) each picked up singles points for Presbyterian.

The Chanticleers return home to the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex for their final three matches of the regular season, beginning with Campbell at 2:30 p.m. on April 7.
