May 4, 2015 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coastal Carolina attacks Jen Cosgrove and Keri White were named to the 2015 Big South All-Tournament Team, the league office announced following Sunday's championship game between top-seeded Winthrop and No. 2 Liberty.
The Chanticleer duo accounted for 17 goals and two assists in two tournament games as the team made its first ever appearance in the Big South Lacrosse Championship semifinals last week.
In a quarterfinal matchup against the sixth-seeded Campbell Fighting Camels last Tuesday, Cosgrove matched a career-high with eight points on seven goals and one assist. It was the second game in a span of five days in which the Stevensville, Md., native turned in a career-high performance against Campbell as she also tallied seven goals and one assist in the regular season finale on April 24. Cosgrove then followed her quarterfinal performance by recording a hat trick, her eighth of the season, in a 14-8 semifinal loss to the Liberty Flames.
On the year, the senior attack tallied single-season program records with 57 points and 47 goals and was named a second-team All-Big South performer. In the Chanticleers' final four games of the season, Cosgrove recorded 26 points on 23 goals and three assists.
White, on the other hand, amassed eight points on seven goals and one assist in the team's two tournament games last week. She took some time to get going offensively as she failed to get on the scoreboard until there was 24:11 remaining in the second half of a 15-11 overtime win against Campbell, but White was huge down the stretch as she finished the game with five points on four goals and an assist. Like Cosgrove, White also turned in her eighth hat trick of the season in the semifinal loss to Liberty.
The junior from Medford, N.J., finished the season ranked second on the team with 53 points on 39 goals and 14 assists. White was one of two Chanticleers to be named first-team All-Big South performers. Additionally, her point and goal totals were good for new career highs.
As a team, the Chanticleers reached new heights during the 2015 season, its third as a Division I women's lacrosse program. Not only did their 11 wins more than double the win totals from the previous two seasons, but the team also amassed program records in goals (211), assists (72), points (283), shots (444), shots on goal (334), draw controls (222) and saves (141).
