Frantzdy Pierrot Honored by Sun Belt

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina junior Frantzdy Pierrot has been named the Sun Belt Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.
The Chanticleers, winners of three straight, will host fifth-ranked Clemson tonight (Oct. 4) at 6 pm.
Pierrot (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) led Coastal Carolina to wins over College of Charleston and Old Dominion last week, getting the game winner in both contests. Overall, he scored three goals.
At the College of Charleston Wednesday, Pierrot got Coastal on the scoreboard early thanks to a goal in the seventh minute and CCU would go on to win 2-0. On Saturday versus Old Dominion, Coastal was trailing the Monarchs 2-1 with eight minutes left to play. Pierrot tied the match in the 83rd minute and put home the game winner in the 87th minute. On a cross from Wes White, Pierrot found himself with an open net and knocked the ball into the goal to tie the contest. White later fed Pierrot for the game-winner. After receiving the ball, Pierrot hammered his shot past the ODU keeper for the win.
Pierrot has three goals and three assists this season. He is tied with Martin Melchor for the team with nine points and 13 shots on goal for the season.
