Final Stats

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina volleyball team, winners of its past 21 straight sets, claimed its 12th consecutive match victory on Sunday afternoon as the Chanticleers (22-4, 13-1) swept Georgia State (10-15, 6-8) at the HTC Center.

Coastal dominated in nearly every category in the 25-11, 25-19, 25-12 win, leading the Panthers in kills (40-23), hitting (.378 to -.028), assists (36-19), digs (51-38) and blocks (8-0).

Annayka Legros had her second great game of the weekend, putting down eight kills at a .800 pace while registering a pair of blocks. Tahleia Bishop matched Legros with eight kills and two blocks while hitting .389.

Dora Lulic and Natasa Savovic followed with seven kills apiece, and Lulic added a team-leading four blocks, all solo.

Sara Boothe and Carla Cahill produced match-highs of 17 assists and 16 digs, respectively.

The Chants opened the match with a dominating first set, hitting .457 while limiting Georgia State to a .000 percentage. Leah Hardeman led CCU with four kills in the set, while Savovic, Bishop and Legros each put down a trio of shots. Kate Federico served Coastal to an early 8-3 lead, and 7-4 Chanticleer run later in the set pushed the advantage to a commanding 19-8 lead.

Georgia State responded by taking a 7-3 lead to start the middle frame and force Coastal into an early timeout. Coming out the break, however, the Chants went on an 11-3 tear to overtake the lead. Lulic led the charge as the sophomore middle blocker put down four kills and stuffed a pair of Panther shots in the set.

Coastal returned to a .400 hitting percentage in the third set as the Chants led the frame from start to finish. Holding a slim 9-8 advantage, Coastal strung together a 10-1 to take firm control of the game. From there, a series of five Georgia State errors helped Coastal close the match.

Coastal returns to the HTC Center Friday, Nov. 11 to take on Troy at 6 p.m. before closing out the regular season on Sunday against South Alabama.
