CONWAY - Zach Remillard (3-for-4) and Michael Paez (2-for-4) each hit home runs to lead #19 Coastal Carolina to a 9-3 victory versus Marshall Friday evening at Springs Brooks Stadium as part of the Caravelle Resort's Baseball at the Beach.

Remillard broke up an impressive pitching performance by Marshall's JD Hammer with a solo home run in the fourth to cut CCU's deficit to 2-1. While Paez homered in the seventh, it was his RBI double in the fifth that helped spur the win. Earlier in the at bat, Paez appeared to double down the line, but it was ruled foul. Two pitches later, he nearly hit the ball in the same spot, this time fair for the RBI double as part of a three-run CCU frame to give the Chants a 4-2 advantage.

Remillard cut the Marshall lead in half, 2-1, with one swing in the bottom of the fourth as he deposited a two-out home run into the Chanticleer bullpen in left field. It was the senior's third round-tripper of the season.
Coastal scored three runs in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead. Tyler Chadwick hit a leadoff double. Seth Lancaster followed with a sacrifice bunt, but an error on the play allowed Lancaster to reach and Chadwick to score. Matt Beaird reached on a bunt single and Billy Cooke loaded the bases with a walk. With two outs, Paez lined a double down the left field line to score Lancaster. A throwing error on the play allowed Cooke to score for the 4-2 advantage.
The Chants added three more runs in the sixth. With the bases loaded, pinch hitter Dalton Ewing hit a sacrifice fly to center to drive in G.K. Young. Pinch hitter David Parrett followed with a two-un double, plating Remillard and Kevin Woodall Jr.
Marshall bounced back to score one in the seventh. Gee hit a leadoff single to chase Morrison. Austin Kitchen came on and recorded two outs before Tommy Lane lined an RBI single to left to score Gee. Paez got that run back in the home half with a one-out home run to left field, his first of the season.
Coastal capped its scoring in the eighth. Ewing was hit by a pitch, stole second, advanced to third on a fly out and scored on an RBI infield single by Anthony Marks.
