CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team won its third straight match on Saturday, defeating visiting James Madison 4-0 at the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex.

Coastal Carolina improves to 9-2 overall with just three nonconference matches remaining.

Coastal received a pair of 6-3 victories on the first and third doubles courts to take a 1-0 match lead. The No. 2 match went unfinished with the Coastal pair of Jabor Al-Mutawa and Sebastian Schneider leading 4-3.

Pedro Leme and Vuk Velickovic paired to deliver a win over Maxi Branth and Brett Moorhead at No. 1, while Rick Timmerman and Luiz Faria clinched the point at No. 3 over Alex Berdnikoff and Miljan Ruzic.

Coastal then grabbed three quick singles points in straight sets to finish off the match, and the remaining three singles contests went unfinished with Chanticleers leading in two.

Al-Mutawa downed Salina 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2, Velickovic bested Moorhead 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2, and Faria topped Berdnikoff 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 to round out Coastal's point-winners.

Schneider (No. 4) and Planchard (No. 5) were leading their respective matches, while Branth held a 1-0 advantage over Leme in the third set at No. 2.

Coastal briefly returns to Big South Conference play for its next match, hosting UNC Asheville at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Chants won their lone conference match of the season at Longwood on Feb. 13.
