CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven matches, and became the lone unbeaten squad in Big South play as the Chanticleers defeated conference opponent Presbyterian 5-2 Sunday afternoon at the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex.

Coastal improves to 13-2, 3-0 with the win, and handed PC its first conference loss of the season as the Blue Hose fall to 7-12, 3-1.

"Our team really stepped up to close out the match today," said head coach Chris Powers. "I know the guys are happy with the win today, but we still have a long way to go and we're not satisfied yet. Our Tuesday is going to be another tough one as we face an excellent Elon team."

Coastal took an early 1-0 match lead after winning the doubles point on courts one and two.

The top Chanticleer pairing of Pedro Leme and Vuk Velickovic cruised to a 6-1 win, and Coastal's second duo of Jabor Al-Mutawa and Sebastian Schneider sealed the point by a 6-4 margin.

The Chants then won four of the six singles points, two of which finished in straight sets.

Velickovic (No. 2) and Luiz Faria (No. 6) wrapped up their matches in two sets, while Leme (No. 3) and Schneider (No. 4) each overcame losses in their second sets to win the third and deliver Coastal's final two points.

Coastal's match versus Elon on Tuesday, set for 1:30 p.m. at the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex, is the Chants' final nonconference match of the season.
