BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team remained the lone unbeaten team in the Big South with a 5-2 win at Campbell on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chanticleers (15-3, 5-0) rallied from a two-point deficit as Campbell (6-11, 2-4) took the opening doubles point and extended its lead on the fifth singles court. Coastal then grabbed the five remaining singles points to finish the match.

"Campbell played extremely well in doubles today and we came out flat," said Chanticleer coach Chris Powers. "We definitely need to be more ready when we step on the court in conference play. Credit the team though for giving a great effort in singles and taking control of the third sets."

Campbell won the doubles point on the second and first courts. Jabor Al-Mutawa and Sebastian fell first to Nicolas Rakitin and Gerard Sola. Jonathan O'Neal and Lorenz Schwab finished the point at No. 1 by handing the first loss of the season to Coastal's top pairing of Pedro Leme and Vuk Velickovic.

The Chants' third pairing of Luiz Faira and Rick Timmerman claimed the final match after the point was settled.

O'Neal put the Camels ahead by two with a straight-sets win over Planchard at No. 5.

Coastal then started to rally, beginning with a No. 4 win from Schneider over Sola in straight sets. Al-Mutawa evened the match at 2-2 with a straight sets win on the second court, and Faria gave Coastal its first lead by downing Dustin Werner in three sets at No. 6.

Leme delivered the match-winning point at No. 3 with a three-set victory over Schwab, and Velickovic added the final tally on the first court against Schaefer.

Coastal wraps up its four-match road stretch this weekend with a pair of conference tests. The Chants are at Gardner-Webb on Saturday before playing their final away match of the season at Winthrop on Sunday. Both matches are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
