Women's Golf Moves Up on Second Day of Magnolia Invite

WEST POINT, Miss. – The women's golf team of Coastal Carolina moved up into ninth place after carding a 7-over 295 on day two of the Magnolia Invitational.

The Chants improved 11 strokes from yesterday's opening round and will head into tomorrow's final round with a total 601 (306-295).

Jenjira Jinangkul led the day's effort with an even-par 72. She shot identical 36's on both the front and back nine and has a two-day total of six-over 150 (78-72). She will be tied for 38th heading into tomorrow's action.

Tiffany Arafi and Stephanie Henning each had one-over 73's during today's action. Henning carded a 35-38 in picking up her score and Arafi had a 36-37. Both players have the same two-day total as Jinangkul and will be tied with their teammate at 38th when tomorrow's third round begins.

Marie Lunackova shot a five-over 77 (37-40) in today's action and has a nine-over 153 (76-77) after today's round. She enters the final 18 holes in a tie for 54th.

Frantiska Lunackova shot an eight-over 80 (38-42) in today's round. Her two-day total heading into tomorrow is a 12-over 156 (76-80). She finished today tied for 61st.

After none of the participating teams breaking par during the first round, play seem to be better today as five teams finished even par or better in today's action. Tourney leader Kennesaw State led the way shooting a five-under 283 and leads the event with a 571 over co-host Mississippi State who shot a four-under and is one stroke back with a two-day total of 572.

Oklahoma is in third place after shooting a two-over in today's round and has a three-over 579. The Invite's other co-host, Ole Miss, is tied for fourth with LSU as both teams sit on the leaderboard with four-over 580's. Rounding out the top 10 are Auburn (582), Memphis and Mississippi State (B) at 587 followed by CCU.

Following the Chants are East Tennessee State, Virginia Tech and Kansas State. Each sits 27-over with 603, while Middle Tennessee State (607) and Southern Mississippi (612) round out the leaderboard.
