Coastal Excels in Singles on First Day of Lynn Stevens Memorial Classic

CONWAY – The Chanticleer women's tennis team turned in a combined record of 9-6 in singles and doubles on Saturday, the first day of action of the Lynn Stevens Memorial Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Participating in this year's fall event is Campbell, East Carolina and UNCG.
Coastal faced Campbell and ECU in singles, winning eight of the 12 matches.
Against the Camels, Jessie Mount (No. 2), Jennifer Brown (No. 4), Maria Khomchenko (No. 5) and Alexa Tiefel (No .6) all won their respective matches. In the singles round against ECU, the Chants won courts 3-6 courtesy of Brown, Alicja Zduniak, Khomchenko and Tiefel.
UNCG got the better of Coastal in doubles action, with the Spartans winning two of the three matches played. Only the No. 3 pairing of Mount/Somer Dalla-Bona was victorious for Coastal.
The Lynn Stevens Memorial Classic concludes on Sunday at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
