CCU Soccer Sweeps Sun Belt Weekly Honors for Second Time

CONWAY – For the second time this season, the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team swept the weekly honors announced by the Sun Belt Conference Office.
Yazeed Matthews has been named the Offensive Player of the Week and Paul Odendahl has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Matthews may be the hottest player in the nation right now. The senior scored two goals in leading CCU to a 4-1 season-ending win over Georgia Southern.
Matthews has now scored at least one goal in the Chants' last seven matches and has scored two goals in each of the past four games CCU has played.
He leads the team and is tied for Sun Belt Conference honors in points with 29 and in goals with 13. Over the last seven matches he has scored 11 goals with two assists.
Odendahl, a junior, played along the back line for the Chants and was one of the reasons the Chants held the conference's highest scoring team to only one goal, which was scored late in the Chants' 4-1 win. The Germany native also got into the scoring column with an assist on CCU's opening goal of the match.
