The two teams used to play every season when CCU was still a member of the Big South, but this will be the first time the two teams have met since the 2015-16 season.

Both teams are coming off season-opening wins, CCU over Ferrum (91-47) and Campbell in an overtime thriller over UNC Wilmington (97-93).
