Coastal Carolina University began its 2018 men's soccer season hosting third-ranked North Carolina Sunday night at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
 
CCU had 16 new players seeing their first action in a Chanticleer uniform as the two teams played two 45 minute periods, with the teams taking a water break at the midway point of each half.
 
It was the first of three exhibition matches the Chanticleers will play leading up to their season opener Friday August 24 when UCLA comes to Conway.
 
CCU will host the 49ers of Charlotte in its next exhibition match. Charlotte will be in Conway Friday August 17 with the match set to begin at 7 p.m.
