Men's Soccer Set to Play at UNCW

Game Notes

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University men's soccer team will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Wilmington, N.C., to play the Seahawks of UNCW on Tuesday night, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.

The two teams have met 20 times on the pitch since the series started back in 1980. CCU holds a slim edge in the overall series at 10-9-1, but the Seahawks have won six of the 11 games played on its home field.

CCU has won two of the past three games between the two teams, but UNCW has won three of the past five.

The Chants (4-6-1) are out to break an ominous streak as they have lost four consecutive games by 1-0 scores. The streak started with a 1-0 loss at nationally-ranked Kentucky on Sept. 28 and has continued on through their Sun Belt opener at Central Arkansas late last week on a second half Bears goal.

The Chants have actually outshot two of those opponents, including shots in goal. CCU's problem during this stretch has been its inability to find the back of the net while having many opportunities to do so.

UNCW (7-4-1) is moving in a different direction. After starting the season 1-2, the Seahawks have won six of its last nine matches including a 1-0 win over the College of Charleston it their last outing to push them to the top of the Colonial Athletic Conference with a 4-0-1 record.

The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. with links to bot the live video feed and live stats at GoCCUsports.com.
