Little Rock, Ark. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team battled the Little Rock Trojans to a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of action in Little Rock, Ark. Friday evening. The Chanticleers are now 4-5-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in Sun Belt action while the Trojans move to 3-5-6 overall and 0-1-4 in conference play.
The Chants outshot Little Rock in all four periods for a 21-9 advantage with eight being on frame and attempted five more corner kicks than the host at 6-1.
In the opening stanza, Coastal's
Hannah Miller and
Sunny Sigurvinsdottir led the offensive attack with two shots each for a 7-2 edge in shots. Sigurvinsdottir's first shot forced the Little Rock goalkeeper to make a save to keep CCU off the scoreboard while Miller's second shot was off the crossbar, just missing the scoring opportunity.
The Chants continued the aggressive offense going in the second period outshooting the Trojans 9-5 with Miller getting five of her nine shots off. Coastal's offense forced the Little Rock goalkeeper to make six saves in the second period, with Miller having three shots on frame.
In the first overtime period, the CCU offense was able to fire off the only two shots in the 10 minute period, yet couldn't find the back of the net.
Coastal Carolina outshot Little Rock 3-2 in the second overtime period with each goalkeeper making a save to keep the match all even. Miller attempted a shot at the 109:31 mark for the final scoring chance for either team.

Ky Hudson only needed to make two saves on the night due to the aggressive offense and has not allowed a goal in her last 255 minutes of action in goal.
Coastal Carolina will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 6, as they will travel to Lafayette, La. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
