Two Chants Tabbed to United Soccer Coaches NCAA DI Women’s All-Southeast Region

Coastal Carolina women’s soccer had a pair of players in Sigurvinsdottir and Miller named all-region

CONWAY – Coastal Carolina women's soccer had a pair of Chanticleers in Sunny Sigurvinsdottir and Hannah Miller named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA DI Women's All-Southeast Region team, as announced by the USC.

The teams are selected through voting by member coaches in the respective divisions with the Southeast region covering programs from the Sun Belt, Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big South.

Sigurvinsdottir garnered first team All-Southeast Region honors, scoring 12 points on six goals on the season. This is Sigurvinsdottir's first all-region selection and comes on the heels of her being named to the CoSIDA 2019 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team and first-team All-Sun Belt.

Miller, a senior forward, was named to the third team All-Southeast Region after scoring six goals and two assists for 14 points on the year. Like Sigurvinsdottir, this is Miller's first all-region selection. She was also named second-team All-Sun Belt.

Both Sigurvinsdottir and Miller helped the Chanticleers to the fourth seed in the Sun Belt Championships.

Sigurvinsdottir had a breakout year tallying six goals on the season with two game-winners while being named to the Sun Belt All-Conference first team. In conference action, the Selfoss, Iceland native, scored two goals with the first goal being the eventual game-winner over Georgia State on Oct. 11. The second goal in Sun Belt play was the first goal in the 3-2 double-overtime loss to eventual regular-season champion South Alabama.

Miller earned her second Sun Belt All-Conference second team selection while scoring four of her six goals in conference play while also picking up an assist.  The Lenexa, Kan. native, tallied two game-winning goals on the year with the first coming in the 1-0 victory over Appalachian State to snap a two-game losing skid to the Mountaineers. Against ULM in the season finale, Miller hit her second game-winner of the year in the 1-0 win against the Warhawks.
