CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will welcome UNC Pembroke to the HTC Center in Conway, S.C., on Thursday, Dec. 5, with a scheduled tip-off time of 7 p.m.
The Chanticleers enter the contest with a 5-1 record while the Braves arrive with an overall record of 5-2 and a two-game winning streak.
COASTAL LAST TIME OUT
Coastal defeated George Mason 74-59 to rebound after its first loss of the season to Richmond in the Coastal Carolina Thanksgiving Classic. CCU finished 1-1 in the two-day event.
Senior guard
DJ Williams scored 17 points while sophomore forward
Janae Camp added a career-high 14 points and 10 rebounds as Coastal built a big lead and cruised to the victory. Camp, who had the first double-double of her career, got all but one of her points in the first half while Williams scored 11 of her points in the second half.

Torrie Cash chipped in with 10 apiece.
COASTAL vs. UNC PEMBROKE HISTORY
The two teams have faced off four times on the hardwood. CCU trails 3-1 in the overall record, picking up a 64-48 victory in the 2014-15 season opener for the Chants. The three losses to UNC Pembroke came in three-straight seasons from 1982-85.

Alexis Robinson pulled down 17 rebounds to lead Coastal in the victory over the Braves in 2014-15.
SCOUTING UNC PEMBROKE
On the season, UNC Pembroke is averaging 56.0 points per game while allowing 57.0. The Braves offense is led by Melanie Horne, who is averaging 10.0 points per game while Tee Graham and Alcenia Purnell have double-digit assists with 26 and 11, respectively.
UNCP got the come-from-behind victory over Chowan in its last outing by a 55-51 score. The Braves held the Hawks to 20 percent shooting in the fourth quarter and used a 10-0 run midway through the final period to swing the momentum in their favor. ShaNiya Lester led UNCP with 11 points while Deja McCain chipped in nine points and Horne totaled eight points.
