BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team had its three-match winning streak come to an end Friday afternoon as the Chanticleers suffered a 6-1 loss at Campbell.
 
Coastal (3-2) fell behind early in the match after surrendering the doubles point, and Campbell (3-3) completed its victory by winning the first four of six singles points.
 
Campbell's third pairing of Gerard Sola/Louis Monterosso kicked off doubles with a 6-1 win over Daiki Tanabe and Gonzalo Achondo. Dustin Werner and Raphael Calzi finished off the point by defeating Joel Popov and Zak Talic at No. 1, also by a 6-1 score.
 
The No. 2 doubles match went unfinished.
 
Coastal's lone point of the match came from Tanabe at No. 6. He edged Ted Williams in a close first set, 7-6, and finished the second set 6-3.
 
Campbell claimed all but one of its five singles points in straight sets. Only the No. 4 match went to a third set, where Achondo ultimately fell to Sola.
 
Coastal will be back in action on Sunday when it returns to the Stevens Tennis Complex for a 1 p.m. match against Winthrop.
