- Coastal Carolina is off to a 7-1 start this season, their best start since 2010 (7-1). Last season, the Chanticleers started the year off at 7-2 over their first nine games and last started a season 8-1 over the first nine games back in 2010 (55-10).
- Coastal Carolina and the College of Charleston are tied up at 23-23 in the all-time series history between the two programs. Both teams have almost identical records in the series at their home fields. Coastal is 16-8 at home versus the Cougars, while Charleston is 15-7 at home versus the Chants. The two teams split in last year's two-game series, with both games being played at Patriots Point, the home of the Cougars.
- Two weeks into the season and the Chanticleers have had two Community Coffee Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week selections in redshirt junior catcher Kyle Skeels (Feb. 19) and sophomore outfielder Parker Chavers (Feb. 26).
- No. 3 Parker Chavers, who was recognized as a Diamond Sports National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball on Monday, leads the team and the Sun Belt with four home runs and 15 RBIs on the season. Last weekend, Chavers hit three home runs and drove in 11 RBIs in a four-game span.
- Coastal Carolina's offense ranks fifth nationally in three offensive categories - runs scored (77), base hits (98) and doubles (21). Catcher Kyle Skeels also ranks fifth nationally in doubles with five on the year.
- The CCU bullpen has a total of six pitchers this season in Alaska Abney, Bobby Holmes, Austin Kitchen, Trevor Damron, Nick Parker and Dylan Gentry that have not allowed a single run this season. The group of six pitchers has combined to throw 17.0-scoreless innings over 12 appearances out of the bullpen.
- Coastal has got off to fast starts offensively this season, scoring in the first inning in five of its eight games. The Chants has pushed across a run first before their opponent in six of their eight games this year. CCU has scored a total of 37 runs over the first three innings of play this season, including 10 runs in the first inning, 13 runs in the second inning and 14 runs in the third.
- Coastal Carolina's pitching staff has combined to strike out 10 or more hitters in four games this season. CCU recorded 12 punch-outs versus Maryland (2/16) and in the road win at UNCW (2/19). The Chants also struck out 10 and 11 hitters in back-to-back wins in the doubleheader sweep of Michigan State (Feb. 22).
- Coastal's offense leads the Sun Belt Conference in a number of offensive categories to start the 2019 season (games through Feb. 24).

- Coastal will host its third and final tournament of the regular season this weekend March 1-4. The CCU Tournament field includes No. 25 Illinois (6-0), UConn (3-3), Indiana (2-4) and Northeastern (4-2).
