BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward
Zac Cuthbertson has earned the Lou Henson award for the National Player of the Week.
Cuthbertson led the Chanticleers to consecutive wins this past week helping CCU run its current win streak to five games. During Thursday's win over Louisiana Monroe Cuthbertson scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the 92-81 win. He also had two assists and two steals in the win.
In Saturday's 96-79 win over Louisiana, the New Bern, N.C., native scored 24 points while grabbing nine boards. He added a blocked shot in the game.
For the week he shot 56 percent (13-23) from the field, 64 percent (7-11) on his three-point attempts and 87 percent (20-23) at the free throw line, averaging 26.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Lou Henson weekly award is presented to the top performance among Mid-Major players in Division I Basketball. At the end of the season a Lou Henson Award will be presented to the top Mid-Major player in Division I college basketball.
