CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will hit the road for two matches against former ASUN members Central Michigan, Thursday, April 18, and Detroit Mercy, Saturday, April 20.
The overall series between Coastal and CMU is tied at 1-1 with the last outing being an 11-10 loss for the Chants on April 22, 2018, on the teal turf in Brooks Stadium. The Chants hold a 3-0 all-time advantage all-time over the Titans, picking up a 14-6 win at home April 19, 2018.
The Chanticleers clinched the number three seed in the ASUN Championship with the 20-7 win over Kennesaw State on Senior Day to close out the home portion of their schedule. Seniors
Haley Alexander (five goals and one assist) and junior
Samantha Courtemanche (four goals and two assists) each tallied six points while
Madeline Bromley (three goals and two assists) to lead the offense.
The Coastal defense led by
Anya McSorley (three caused turnovers and three ground balls) forced nine turnovers and scooped 16 ground balls while senior goalkeeper
Harley Barrett made seven saves between the pipes.
On the season, Alexander (45 goals and 15 assists), Bromley (29 goals and 23 assists), and Courtemanche (34 goals and 18 assists) pace the offense tallying 60, 52, and 52 points, respectively, for an offense that is averaging 14.93 goals per game.
Defensively, Barrett has totaled 110 saves on the season with a 48.7 save percentage while juniors
Emily D'Orsaneo (15 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls),
Megan Kilpatrick (20 caused turnovers and 17 ground balls), and McSorley (14 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls) lead a defense that is allowing just 9.36 goals per game.
First up is a stop in Mount Pleasant, Mich., to take on the Chippewas (6-8). CMU dropped a tight 8-6 SoCon matchup against Furman on a cold and snowy day on April 14. Jocelyne Lemay scored the hat-trick with four goals to lead the offense while Hope Murray made 10 saves in goal.
For the season, Natalie Karlen (34 goals and 11 assists), Lemay (37 goals and five assists), and Jessica Schuchardt (21 goals and 20 assists) lead the Chippewas attack while Murray and Dominique Hamman split time in goal with 88 and 70 saves, respectively.

Pontiac, Mich. is home to the 7-7 Titans of Detroit Mercy where the Chants will stop before heading back home before a final road trip to Elon. Elise Harder (four goals), Kamryn Corraro (four goals and two assists), and Lexie Kinmond (three goals and three assists) each tallied a hat-trick to lead the Titans attack in a 17-8 win over SoCon member Wofford while Allison McDonough saved three from the back of the net.
On the season, Detroit Mercy's offense is averaging 13.64 goals per game with Kinmond (38 goals and 33 assists) and Kaitlyn Wandelt (36 goals and 15 assists) getting the bulk of the scoring while McDonough has tallied 110 saves for a defense that is giving up 14 goals per game.
