CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer program played its second exhibition game of the season and its second in three days in a battle with Clemson University.
The Tigers won the exhibition match by a final score of 3-1, but it was a game that was more even than the final tally shows.
The Chanticleers, playing with 16 new players this season, outshot the Tigers 8-6, including 7-2 in the second half.
CCU's lone goal came off the foot of
Tyrone Mondi in the 74
th minute with the assist coming from Conway's
Jason Kemble on a corner kick. The goal cut Clemson's lead to 2-1, but the Tigers put the game away with a third goal in the 77
th minute.
The Chanticleers have one more exhibition game before the start of the season. They will hit the road to nationally-ranked Duke Friday, August 23
rd at 7:30 p.m.
