Levanova spent four seasons at Syracuse, beginning in 2015.
 
As a senior in 2018, Levanova played 63 sets over 23 matches, totaling 55 kills, four aces, 38 digs and 36 blocks. She saw her most action and had her best season statistically as junior in 2017, playing in 79 sets while putting up totals of 109 kills, three aces, 76 digs and 20 blocks. Levanova's breakout junior season followed a year away from action as she was forced to miss the 2016 season due to injury. In her first season with the Orange in 2015, Levanova recorded 16 kills, 36 digs and 15 blocks across 43 sets played.

"Mariia had a tremendous career at Syracuse and brings more NCAA Tournament experience to our young roster.  She brings a winning mentality having played for Leonid Yelin with the Orange who is one of the best coaching minds in the world.  Mariia is mature, balanced, and a very confident leader who is an outstanding six rotation player.  With her experience, she has already positively impacted our program this summer and will continue to be part of our success this season."
